China Mobile's 4G Subscribers Tops 50 Million

As of the end of October, China Mobile has signed up over 50 million subscribers to its TD-LTE (Time-Division Long Term Evolution) network—60 days earlier than the company previously expected, reported Xinhua News Agency on November 15. Over the past 10 months since it was awarded a 4G license in December 2013, the company has deployed around 570,000 4G base stations in 300 cities covering over 75% of the Chinese population. Moreover, the operator has signed 4G roaming deals with 27 countries and areas around the world, including the United States and Hong Kong.
